Welcome to ASMS/SPSC 2012

The 6th Advanced Satellite Multimedia Systems Conference and the 12th Signal Processing for Space Communications Workshop will be jointly organized by the DEIS and ARCES Institutions of the University of Bologna, the DLR Institute for Communications and Navigation, the European Space Agency, the Integral SatCom Initiative Technology Platform, and the SatNEx Network of Experts.

Building upon the renown tradition of the two events, this joint conference organised with the support of the University of Vigo and Gradiant is an outstanding opportunity for industry and research institutions to get the latest updates and to exchange information about recent advances and emerging technologies for mobile, broadband and broadcast satellite communication systems.

Venue & accommodation

The workshop site will be the Parador Conde de Gondomar, a Middle Age Castle transformed into a nice hotel. The Parador lies within the precinct of Monte Real, surrounded by its fortified walls since before it was colonized by the Romans in the second century B.C., from where there is an incomparable view overlooking the Vigo and the Baiona Rías.

Baiona

At the southwest of Vigo lies the city of Baiona, a small but interesting place to be visited, specially in summer, when all the touristical facilities are fully offered to all visitors. Some of the interest points of Baiona are its old beautiful buildings, sculptures, cultural places, etc. The Fortress is the most appreciable construction, walled and surrounded by the sea. Some of the more visible facilities are the sailing port and the Monte Real yatch club.

Travel information

The best way to get to Baiona is by air, via Vigo airport, located 27 Km. from Baiona. Other possible airports with more flight connections are Santiago de Compostela and Oporto, one hour and a half driving time from Baiona. All are highway connected with Baiona.
